How to Wear Head to Toe Denim at Any Age
Denim is one of those timeless fabrics that never goes out of style. This season you can find denim anything; shirts, dresses, bags, even swimsuits, which makes it super fun to put together an all-denim look. Because the material is so comfortable, versatile and comes in a wide range of colors, prices and fits, shopping for it can easily become overwhelming. Putting together an all-denim look is not always the easiest. You have to throw away the part of your brain that needs to match colors exactly, decide how warm or cool you ned to be because, while I love it, denim is pretty unforgiving if you overheat easily or get caught in a downpour, and also what types of cuts look best on you. If you're short, opt for skinny ankle length or long flared cuts. If you're curvy, search for stretchy materials and trouser legs. If you're a boyish figure, a high waist can give the illusion of curves. I'll probably feature a post of how to pick the right fit of jeans for your body. As much as we hate to admit it, you need to dress your age. I don't mean that a 40 year old can't look hot in some AE jeans, I'm more referring to the types of items that we wear. For example, as a 31 year old, I wouldn't be comfortable running around in a denim bikini top, daisy dukes and a kimono (like I would have when I was 21) with my baby girl on my hip and spit up running down my back. Hopefully these outfit ideas for your 20's, 30's, 40's and up will help inspire you to try an all-denim look.
This look is so playful and fun! It could easily go from a bike ride in the park to class to a friend's barbecue. The hair details are the accessory of the moment for boho looks and the backpack handbag style is as effortlessly cute as they come.
You might be thinking overalls for 30 somethings? Yes, ma'am. The cute little crop top shoes just a peek of skin under the overalls and modern blazer, so you're cool and covered. I own these mules in the darker tan and they are incredibly comfortable, so I highly recommend them. To top the look off, I tossed in some Versace shades because, we all like little luxury in our lives.
I am in love with this look. Everything looks so comfortable and the hat that says, "Head in the Clouds" is part of one of the most adorable collections I've seen in a while. Playing around with a monotone pale blue palette lets the saturated tan of the Dooney bag stand out. Kick flares keep this look in-the-moment and every single piece shown here is completely timeless, just like you.
