My Favorite Michigan Wedding Trends: Quirky, Shiny and Green Edition
While the Spring edition of Michigan wedding season has come to a close, we have about 4 more months of beautiful dresses, place settings and blooming bouquets to gush over. Here are some of the most fun wedding trends I've seen popping up around the mitten state.

A Touch of Boho
I love a little boho in my life; organic florals, crocheted fabrics, and jewelry that makes us feel like actual princesses. Floral crowns and hair jewels have been huge these past few years and fun patterned ties and socks are now available in spunky florals. Boho boutiques and mass retailers like Free People are hopping on the bridal bandwagon with lines of dresses, lingerie and fine jewelry. Lamb Bride is opening their doors in Grand Rapids this summer, welcoming the less conventional, boho-loving brides to this one-of-a-kind shop as the first boho bridal boutique in the area.
Gold-Detailed Place Settings
I. Love. Gold. Did anyone just have a flash back from the movie Goldmember, because I did. Furniture, jewelry, clothing, iPhones, you name it - if it exists in this world, I want it in gold. There is a certain level of class that gold brings to an event. Gold engagement and wedding rings are making a huge comeback in 2016 as well. I know we all don't have truck loads of gold doubloons lying around, and I doubt much of this stuff is actual gold, but gold; the beautiful, metallic, shimmery shade provides a special, more elegant feel to an event whether it is actual gold or not. It is available in everything from vintage table pieces, rosie shades of jewelry, or even sparkly gold tablecloths.
This might be the most Michigan specific trend. We're surrounded by beautiful lakes, have a great climate for growing certain types of orchards and for a long time now, we've been known for our delicious apples and cherries. It's an organic, beautiful setting full of nature that is very symbolic to how a marriage could grow and flourish.
